The Florida Historical Society is accepting submissions for papers for its annual meeting (May 20-23, 2009) in Pensacola, Fla. The venue will be the Hampton Inn-Pensacola Airport, 2187 Airport Boulevard, Pensacola, Florida 32504 (Phone: 850-478-1123/ Fax: 850-478-8519). Room rates for the conference are $109 per night.
For individual papers, submit a title, 150-word abstract and one-page vita. For a panel of papers, submit a title, abstract and vita for each participant plus a session title, abstract of the panel and a suggested moderator/discussant. Send by email (or as an MSWord attachment) to the program committee chair at jgcusick@ufl.edu or as a paper copy to James Cusick, Special & Area Studies Collections, George A. Smathers Library, University of Florida, Gainesville FL 32611-7005. The deadline for proposal submissions is extended to February 15, 2009.
