The FLA launches series of debates in 2009 under the moto East meets West. This is a series of debates devoted to the anniversary of events happening throughout 2009 or that revest particular relevance during the year. The first scheduled is "20 years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall." Speakers: Jean-Pierre Cabestan (Baptist University (Hong Kong), Ivo Carneiro (IIUM) and Gaochao He (Beijing University).
