Dear Graduate Chairs, Secretaries, and Student Representatives:
Please forward to all graduate students and top undergraduates the following information.
The universities of Saskatchewan and Manitoba/Winnipeg are pleased to invite proposals for the first annual Keewatin Country Graduate Student History Conference to be held April 16-18 at the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa in Moose Jaw, SK. Replacing the earlier Buffalo Province History Conference (hosted by UofS) and the Ft. Gary Lectures (hosted by UofM/UofW), this joint conference aims to foster dialogue, cooperation, and support among students and faculty from universities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba as well as the northern United States and the rest of Canada - wherever the Keewatin, or cold wind, blows! The keynote presentation will be delivered by Steve Hewitt, University of Birmingham, following registration on the evening of the 16th.
The organizers welcome proposals from graduate and top undergraduate students from all regional, thematic, and methodological areas in history, classics, and related fields. Please send proposals of 250 words and a short CV (one page maximum) to Liam Haggarty liamh@shaw.ca. The proposal deadline is January 30, 2009.
We look forward to reading your submissions!
The Keewatin Country Conference Organizing Committee
