THE UNDERHILL REVIEW, an electronic magazine devoted to ideas, history, and culture, invites thoughtful writers who bring a historical perspective to contemporary intellectual and culture subjects, issues, and concerns to propose essays and review essays.

We provide those from any discipline with a forum that lies between the specialized scholarly research journal and the commercially driven general interest magazine.

Essays and review essays should bear the authority of personal voice rather than that of the scholarly footnotes, and should be addressed to the informed general reader.
