The ‘Anthem Nineteenth-Century Series’ list incorporates a broad range of titles within the field of literature and culture, comprising an excellent collection of interdisciplinary academic texts. The series aims to promote the most challenging and original work being undertaken in the field, and encourages an approach that fosters connections between history, science, religion and literary theory. Our titles have earned an excellent reputation for the originality and rigour of their scholarship, and our commitment to high quality production. Leading titles from across the series include: ‘Elegy for an Age: The Presence of the Past in Victorian Literature’ by John D Rosenberg; ‘Jane Austen and the Morality of Conversation’ by Bharat Tandon; ‘John Keble in Context’, edited by Kirstie Blair; ‘Unmapped Countries: Biological Visions in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture’, edited by Anne-Julia Zweirlein; and ‘Victorian Sensation: Or the Spectacular, the Shocking and the Scandalous in Nineteenth-Century Britain’ by Michael Diamond.
We welcome submissions of proposals for challenging and original works that meet the criteria of this series. We also welcome the opportunity of pursuing co-publishing ventures with institutions in the field. Should you wish to send in a proposal for a collection of essays, a single or multi-authored monograph, please contact us at: proposal@wpcpress.com.
