MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
It is my great pleasure to be with you again to make an open invitation for the next conference: GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON GLOBAL WARMING-2009 (GCGW-09) which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on July 5-9, 2009.
Firstly, on behalf of the Organizing Committee I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely appreciate the GCGW-2008 keynote speakers, speakers, specialized session organizers, session chairs and attendees whose contributions and efforts made GCGW-08 a great success.
Secondly, let me provide some remarkable figures about the past conference. Nine keynote presentations and nearly 200 technical presentations (including specialized session and discussion session presentations) from 48 countries remarkably contributed to the success of this Conference. Personally, I feel that this Conference was a great success, as it brought together researchers, scientists and engineers from different backgrounds and different countries for a common goal: TO BRING ALL DISCIPLINES TOGETHER FOR LOCAL AND GLOBAL SOLUTIONS!
Thirdly, I have been receiving numerous e-mails and notes from various people who have been expressing their appreciation for such as successful conference. This makes me happy to feel confident that all keynote speakers, session chairs, specialized and panel discussion chairs, general speakers, and attendees found this Conference a very rewarding experience from not only a technical but also a social standpoint, and benefited from the exchange of ideas, information and solutions with technical experts. The luncheons, banquet, reception and other exciting social events provided an ample opportunity for participants to interact with each other. I am also extremely happy that we had an opportunity to show you cordial Turkish hospitality and the stunning natural beauty in Istanbul.
We are now opening a new page with GCGW-09 for which we expect greater success although there is global economic crisis. Due to unexpected local and global crises, we have decided to enhance the main themes of the conference with a special coverage on economic dimensions of global warming.
GCGW-09 will include plenary sessions, keynote lectures, and several specialized sessions on different topics related to global warming and potential solutions. Industry participation is very welcomed, and we hope that the conference will lead to effective and fruitful communication between the research, government and industrial communities. I hope that you will find the next conference, GCGW-09, both enjoyable and valuable, and also enjoy the architectural, historical, cultural and natural beauty of Istanbul, Turkey.
I look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you all, who have common goal to solve local and global problems, for the next GCGW-09 in Istanbul, Turkey, (www.gcgw.org) on July 5-9, 2009.
Best wishes for a better World,
Dr. Ibrahim Dincer
