CALL FOR PAPERS & POSTER PRESENTATIONS
"Innovation, Migration and Transference: Voices, Gender, and Expression in the Changing World"
The Women's Studies Program and the Conference Program Committee at Texas Tech University proudly announces the 25th Annual All-University Conference on The Advancement of Women in Higher Education, which will take place on the campus of Texas Tech University, Friday, April 3, 2009. Registration information will soon be available on our website: www.depts.ttu.edu/wstudies.
We invite papers, posters, exhibit and panel proposals that explore the manifold meanings of movement and change as connected to, created by, and/or caught up in the presence of women's, gender, and identity issues, in both contemporary and historical frameworks. Interdisciplinary proposals, as well as those from the disciplines and specialty subject areas across the Texas Tech University campus, are welcome. We will be happy to consider proposals from the professional schools and the administrative offices, as well as those from scholarly areas where women have been historically under-represented, including mathematics, the agricultural and natural sciences, and technology and applied sciences. We also invite students, staff and faculty members in the social and behavioral sciences, the visual and performing arts, the communications fields, and the humanities to present their research.
The Program Committee also issues a special invitation to interested parties from other colleges and universities, including Lubbock-area institutions, Angelo State University, and other institutions in the Southwest to present, to participate, and/or to attend this conference. Faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students are all invited to share their work, in the form of research findings, group or single-author projects, and works-in-progress in multiple media in paper, poster or exhibit sessions.
All proposals should consist of the following elements: name(s) of author(s); email addresses for all authors, to be used for all correspondence concerning the conference; a brief bio statement about all authors, indicating their status (faculty, student, staff, community member), institutional affiliation, and position; and an abstract of 250-500 words describing the project to be presented and providing the title of the project or paper.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 2, 2009. Email any questions to: womens.studies@ttu.edu and enter "2009 – Question" in the subject line.
Send four hard copies and a CD containing this information (in Microsoft Word format, New Times Roman or Arial font only, and no images, please) via TTU Campus mail or via US Postal Service to arrive on or before the deadline to:
