Latin American Perspectives is a scholarly journal that is accessible to academics, graduate and undergraduate students alike. Since 1974, Latin American Perspectives has been a theoretical and scholarly journal for discussion and debate that offers a vital multidisciplinary view of the powerful forces impacting the lives of people across the Americas. The journal combines studies of multiple disciplines into a comprehensive and scholarly examination of the current state of Latin America. The journal encourages class analysis of sociocultural realities and political strategies to transform Latin American sociopolitical structures and publishes a diversity of political viewpoints that influence progressive debates in Latin America. A particular strength of LAP is bringing the work of Latin American scholars to the English-speaking world. No other journal in the field contains as many translated contributions from Latin American scholars.
