We are pleased to announce that the Centre for South Asian Studies at Edinburgh University, Scotland, UK will be hosting the next annual BRITISH ASSOCIATION FOR SOUTH ASIAN STUDIES CONFERENCE on March 30th-April 1st 2009. The deadline for the submission of panel abstracts is 30 November 2008. The deadline for submitting individual paper proposals is 25 January 2009. We are particularly keen to solicit proposals for panels based around strong themes with specific research questions. Further details about the conference and informal queries about panel proposals may be directed to the academic convenor Dr Crispin Bates at BASASconf2009@ed.ac.uk
