I am putting together a civil rights panel for the Graduate Student Conference on Power and Struggle. The conference will be held on the campus of the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, March 6-7, 2009. The conference theme focuses on the dynamic between power in personal, social, political, or institutional relationships and the struggle to break,
transform, or reclaim the boundaries constructed by those in power.
I encourage graduate students who are involved in civil rights research to e-mail me directly about participating in this panel discussion. This opportunity will provide graduate students with a forum to receive feedback from their peers, to gain experience presenting their research, and to build the CV. The deadline for proposal submission is November 15, 2008.
