Call for Papers and Panel Proposals

The Pennsylvania Historical Association invites proposals for individual papers, panels, roundtable discussions and special sessions to be given at its 78th annual meeting at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. This meeting is open to scholars, researchers, educators, public historians, and professioanls who share an interest in the history of Pennsylvania and the mid-Atlantic region from the founding years to the present.

The focus of the 2009 conference will be Mid-Atlantic Studies. The Mid-Atlantic includes all states bordering Pennsylvania as well as the District of Columbia, greater Appalachia,and the Upper Ohio River Valley.

Electonic submissions are preferred; those submitting proposals through regular mail should send six copies. Proposals must include a title, description of paper or panel, brief CV for all participants, and full contact information.

Deadline for proposals is January 15, 2009.

Participants will be notified of the committee's decision no later than April 2009.
