The conference, "Christian Love: Theory and Practice," explores how love might best be defined, how love might best be expressed, and what it means to feel loved. The conference features diverse speakers, formats, and topics. Keynote speakers include Stephen G. Post, author of "When Good Things Happen to Good People," and Michael Lodahl, author of "When Love Bends Down" and coauthor of "Relational Holiness: Responding to the Call of Love."
A number of pastors and preachers will share insights and stories about their experience preaching on love. Diverse workshops on love will be offered. A panel of scholars will explore pros and cons to the idea that holiness and love should be identified with Christlikeness. And conference participants will ponder why lower, middle, and upper class people differ in how much they give to the needy.
An edited book of essays, sermons, poetry, and short stories on love will be published in connection with the conference. Live internet coverage of the conference will be available to those unable to attend.
