We are trying to bring together a book of collected articles on Food History of India. The article could be on any aspect related to food in Indian history, literature and culture. We are methodologically and thematically very liberal and would want to focus on the rich food diversity and dynmamism on Indian people. People of all over the world have come and influenced the food and the palate and now these are as Indian as possible. Take for example the Punjabi Chinese which has been accepted as popular form of taste in India. People like it so much that even when they migrate out of India, they still yearn for the tatse which is no where close to the original Chinese food. Similarly one could talk about the introduction and acculturation of potato as important ingredient in the pan-Indian palate.
We solicit published and unpublished articles on any aspect of food and its representation. Please contact eiher of the editors and submit a 250 word abstract by December 2008 and then full artcle by march 31, 2009.
