Discover an unknown St-Lawrence : a river which evolved at the pace of the major conflicts in history. From the Native-American wars to global upheavals, to clashes between the French and the British and the American and the British, the St-Lawrence has been the regular target of attacks and threats to its security. How did its defenders confront these dangers? Were they always able to evaluate them properly? To which extent did this tumultuous past have an impact on the historiography and the collective memory? Come and listen to experts with different backgrounds debate these issues – and many others! – in the following workshops :
The Warpath of the First Nations
The French Regime: An Imperiled Strategic Axis
The British Regime: The New Threats
Pre-Wars and News of the World
World Wars: In the Sights of Germany
