MANUSCRIPTS AND PROPOSALS IN POLITICS WANTED
Praeger Publishers, the general interest imprint of the Greenwood Publishing Group, is expanding its publishing program in politics under a new editor. We invite scholars and other authors to submit manuscripts and proposals for books on current politics and current events.
Background: Praeger has been bringing out nonfiction for educated lay readers since 1950. We have no political axes to grind: we are in the market for well-argued, well-researched books that enlighten, entertain, and educate. Our authors come from academia, journalism, and the blogosphere. By way of example, here are two recent popular Praeger titles in politics:

We are seeking manuscripts and proposals in all areas of current politics of interest to educated general readers. We are particularly interested in compelling projects on
--political corruption focusing on current events
--the media and politics, especially focusing on recent elections
--“new” politicians such as Obama, Palin, and others
--“new opinion makers,” examining and identifying the new digital elite and their role in opinion making
--the “new media” and politics
--political spin and dirty tricks, past and present
--political scandals, past and present
Praeger offers advances for approved projects and standard royalty rates. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed, and Praeger books are aggressively promoted to the library market and to all online booksellers.
