The first 'Sex Work Research' Postgraduate Conference is being launched on Thursday 22nd January 2009. It is hoped this conference will provide postgraduates the opportunity to meet other students and academics in the field and present their inspiring work in a supportive and relaxed environment which is specifically dedicated to the emergence of a ‘sociology of sex work’. We hope to develop this network and perhaps aim for an annual conference.
The conference will be held in Beechgrove House at the University of Leeds (more details closer to the time). The event is being jointly organised by Teela Sanders and myself, with support from the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds. It is anticipated that the conference will begin at 10.30 am and will close around 4.30pm. The one day conference is free, including refreshments and lunch! This we hope will enable more students and academics to attend the exciting event.
