The Philippine Academic Consortium for Latin American Studies (PACLAS) is pleased to announce the holding of its first international conference on Philippine-Latin American Relations in Manila on December 15-17, 2008 to be hosted by the city government of Manila and the University of the Philippines. The Venue is the University of the City of Manila (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila), right inside historic Intramuros (walled city).
PACLAS, founded in 2002 and initiated by the Philippine's Department of Foreign Affairs, is a consortium of major Philippine universities seeking to promote academic and cultural exchange and to expand studies on Philippine-Latin American relations in collaboration with Latin American consular offices in Manila and counterpart academic institutions in Latin America.
The registration fee, which includes conference documents plus lunch and refreshments, is US$ 150 for foreign participants and PhP 3,500.00 for local participants.
