West Virginia New Deal Conference: 75th Anniversary 1933 - 2008. The conference will be held in Elkins, WV, October 24-26, 2008. West Virginia Association of Museums and the West Virginia Humanities Council are sponsoring a conference celebrating the 75th anniversary of the New Deal in West Virginia. Topics include the Civilian Conservation Corps in West Virginia State Parks and Forest areas, Conducting New Deal Research, New Deal Buildings and Structures, Homesteads, Post Office Murals, Blanche Lazelle, the Federal Music Project and Outhouses. Friday's luncheon will feature Jerry Bruce Thomas, author of Appalachian New Deal. Registration information can be found at www.museumsofwv.com
