Call for Papers: Latin American Experience
2008 Southwest/Texas Popular Culture/American Culture Association
30th Annual Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico
February 24-28, 2009
This year the SW/TX PCA/ACA celebrates its 30th Birthday with our theme, reeling in the Years: 30 Years of Film, TV, and Popular Culture. Papers are particularly sought on aspects of film, TV, and popular culture of the last 30 years with an emphasis on the popular culture of 1979. Proposals are now being accepted for the International Experience: Latin American Studies Area. Papers can be presented in Spanish or English. Listed below are some suggestions for possible presentations, but topics not included here are also welcome.

o Food and Literature of Latin America
o TV and Popular culture
o Latin Americans in the U.S,
o Interpretations of nationalism in Popular Culture.
o Latinos and Latinas in film
o Latin American novel, poetry and theater
