The Middle East: History, Religion, and Culture
3-Volume Illustrated Reference Series
We are inviting academic editorial contributors to a new series of social and cultural history reference books for the high-school and college library market. The Middle East Series is composed of the following 3 titles:
Volume I: Prehistory to 1250
Volume II: 1250 to 1920
Volume III: 1920 to Present
Each volume is organized in an A to Z format with approximately 100 articles on the period’s history and religion, with numerous 4-color illustrations and maps. Articles range from 500 words to 2500 words and include sidebars and bibliographies. The Middle East Series will be published by Sharpe Reference and is a production of Golson Books, Ltd. Gene R. Garthwaite, Ph.D. (Dartmouth), serves as General Editor, reviewing all submissions for historical accuracy and acceptability. Allen J. Fromherz (Georgia State University), Ph.D will serve as Consulting Editor.
Deadline for submission is January 15, 2009. Honoraria range from $25 for short articles up to $85 for longer articles.
