Water and Our World
Call for papers: Proteus: A Journal of Ideas seeks essays and scholarly articles that examine the importance and influence of water in a variety of contexts and settings. Submissions are encouraged from a wide range of disciplines and perspectives including the sciences, sociology, literature, business, psychology, political science, philosophy, cultural studies, geography, and history. Our lead article is by Fast Company’s Charles Fishman. Suggested topics include (but are not limited to): politics of water; water rights; management of water resources; images of water in literature, religion and culture; pollution and its effects; influence of water in determining such things as human settlements, trade routes, etc.; sustaining force of life; relationship of water and weather.
