This conference, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII's accession, will draw on a variety of disciplines, from history, literature, and theology through to textiles, music, art, and architecture. Focussing particularly on the fashioning of the court, it aims to address Henry VIII as the sacral monarch around whom it all
revolved, and honour his continuing legacy.
Registration is now open and full details and the programme can be found at the conference website: www.hrp.org.uk/henryconference2009. Plenary talks will be given by Eamon Duffy, Susan Brigden, Maria Hayward, Greg Walker and G W Bernard, and a roundtable discussion will feature Dale Hoak, John N King, Tatiana String and Tarnya
Cooper in the King's Guard Chamber and Great Hall at Hampton Court Palace.
The full ticket price (£249) includes all plenary talks with a buffet supper followed by an early music recital in the Chapel Royal on Monday 13 July 2009, pre-dinner drinks and a gala dinner in the Cartoon Gallery on Tuesday 14 July. The full ticket also includes teas, coffees and lunches throughout.
