The program committee welcomes original contributions from the areas of political philosophy, philosophy od law, political and social ethics, political science and interdisciplinary studies on the following topics: hermeneutics of freedom and democracy in modern Europe; treaties of the European Union: political and philosophical aspects; EU institutions (courts, parliaments, executives, bureaucracies) and the understandings of freedom, responsibility and/or democracy in their respective contexts; Eastern Europe (1989-91) and political philosophy; Southeast Europe, Turkey and the European Union; a European ethos and the concept of European civil society; social solidarity, integration and conceptions of European citizenship; the European Union as a liberal legal order; freedom, justice, democracy and capitalism(s) in Europe; migration, borders and the new territories of multiculturalism: political, legal and social aspects; comparative issues (for example, the EU and the USA).
