The Database on Return Migrants to the Maghreb (DReMM) is freely available online. The DReMM constitutes a rich source of information about the processes of reintegration of around one thousand return migrants and about their post-return conditions in their countries of origin. It includes an array of variables allowing the analysis of return migrants’:
- Sociodemographic characteristics (age, place of birth, sex, marital status, countries of immigration, countries of return);
- Social and professional situations (occupations, skills, vocational training);
- Levels of education;
- Resources (average salary, frequency and amount of remittances, human capital, social capital)
- Experiences of migration (including length of stay abroad, interaction with host society, contacts with local authorities);
- Motivations to emigrate, return, stay on a permanent basis in the country of origin, stay on a temporary basis in the country of origin;
- Post-return conditions and prospects.
