Theme: LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING: MEETING THE REALITIES OF A CHANGING WORLD.
The 3rd ILLC 2008 aims to provide a platform for educators, teachers, scholars, institutions and interested parties to discuss and highlight the needs and concomitant changes that need to be made in order that we may address the realities of a changing world and prepare learners to meet these changes. We welcome contributions in the form of paper presentations, workshops and poster sessions on the following themes/sub-themes:
Changes in classroom practice;Use of information technology in language teaching; Cultural awareness in English programmes; Roles of native/non-native speaker teachers; Assessment in second/foreign language teaching and learning; Socio and psycholinguistic research and ELT; Language learning policies; ELT management;
Curriculum and syllabus design; Language assessment and testing; Language teaching technology; Language planning and policy; Use of the media in ELT; Multiliteracies; Professional and teacher development in ELT; Language learning/teaching strategies, styles; ELT in rural settings; Materials production, selection, adaptation and evaluation;
Literature in the language classroom; Class readers and extensive reading; Learner autonomy and teacher autonomy; Self-directed and self-access language learning;
The deadline for proposals is: 1st August 2008
Proposals should include a title and abstract (maximum 250 words) and be accompanied by brief boidata with full contact details of the author(s).
