The Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology, University of Malaya and the Center for Information Literacy, University of Malaya Library, will jointly host the:
International Conference on Libraries, Information and Society (ICOLIS) 2008 at Armada Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Towards an Information Literate Society
November 18-19, 2008
Invites educators, researchers, and professionals in library and information science to submit papers relevant to the following themes:
-A Framework for Information Literacy in Today’s World
-Information Literacy Imperatives for the Learning Commons
-An Information Literate Institution
-Dimensions, Standards and Competencies for Information Literacy
-Partnerships in Information Literacy
-Professional Development for Information Literacy
-Technology and Information Literacy
-Research in Information Literacy
-New Ideas and Innovations in Information Literacy
-Directions for the Future
Submission must be in the form of:
A paper of 3,000 to 5,000 words
A structured abstract of 200 to 300 words:
Full paper must include
name(s) and affiliation of (each) author,
mailing address, telephone, fax, and e-mail address, and a Brief biography of the presenter(s)
5 keywords describing the paper
Bibliography or Reference List
