The Pennsylvania Historical Association seeks an editor for the Pennsylvania History Studies Series. The Series publishes concise, engaging, illustrated, and authoritative volumes about Pennsylvania history for general readers and students. Additional information about the Series and its current publications list can be viewed at pa-history.org. The editor, with the advice of an editorial board, is responsible for setting the overall direction of the series, soliciting contributions, conducting peer reviews of all submissions according to standard scholarly procedures, copyediting accepted manuscripts, and carrying out any and all other functions necessary for the editing, publication and marketing of the volumes. The Series’ current publication schedule is one new volume per year. The editor receives an annual honorarium of seven hundred fifty dollars and a modest office expense budget; some institutional support is expected and might include such items as student assistants and use of office computers, email, and photocopying. The new editor should be prepared to begin January 2009 or as soon thereafter as possible. Review of applications will begin July 31 and continue until the position is filled. Inquiries and/or a letter of application and curriculum vitae should be sent to PHA President Charles D. Cashdollar, 215 Church Street, Indiana, PA 15701 or cashdolr@iup.edu or 724-463-3458.
