The 2008 COMIUCAP World Congress will be held from September 11-13, 2008 (main venue: Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines) with the theme, "Philosophy, Religions, and Transcendence."
COMIUCAP ("Conférence Mondiale des Insitituions Universitaires Catholiques de Philosophie") was founded in Rome in 1999 and officialized at the UNESCO General Assembly. Members of COMIUCAP are the faculties and chairs of Catholic universities around the world (presently from 35 countries and 5 continents).
We are honored to have, as speaker for the inaugural lecture, Professor Jean-Luc Marion (University of Paris-Sorbonne and University of Chicago). Our guest speakers for the plenary lectures this year are Professor Lorenzo Bruno Puntel (Munich), Prof. Friedo Ricken (Hochschule für Philosophie Munich), Prof. Juan Carlos Scannone (Buenos Aires), Prof. Franck Budenholzer (Fu Jen University, Taiwan), and Prof. Alfredo Co (University of Santo Tomas, Manila).
We invite papers on the theme to be considered for presentation during the concurrent workshops. The final paper should be original, unpublished, and no more than 6000 words. Please prepare submissions for blind review, and include a cover page consisting of the paper's title and abstract, as well as personal contact details including an email address. Papers may be in English, French, or Spanish.
