"Rivals of the Twentieth Century": USSR and USA. Two Geopolitical Powers in Competition

The book project is devoted to a comparative view on the systems of the two geopolitical powers of the Twentieth Century: USSR and USA. It is not intended to deliver another diplomatic study, instead it wants to give a view from 'inside'. What made the Soviet society different to that of US. Were there any similarities that explained their status as geopolitical powers? Chapters on political systems, social welfare, gender, youth, workers' movements, mass media and ecology are welcome. Potential contributors should send a short C.V. and an abstract of max.1,000 words
