This conference presents a series of talks about place through consideration of the written and spoken word. It will cover localities across the world, exploring connections between local, national, and global environments, as well as between the written and oral.
It will bring together scholars from literary studies, performance studies, oral history, geography, environmental studies, architecture, and music.
