CALL FOR SESSIONS
AAANZ 2008 CONFERENCE
QUEENSLAND COLLEGE OF ART, GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY, BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA
4-6 December, 2008
AAANZ: Alpha Alpha Alpha November Zulu
This year’s conference aims to encourage papers from a broad disciplinary base and as part of this to recall the earlier involvement of the design professions in the Association and Journal of Art. This is particularly timely in the 30th year of the journal’s publication, when the conference is hosted by QCA, a studio based institution teaching across art, design and photography, and in light of the increasing attention paid to the role of design in the critical and theoretical debates surrounding art.
The 2008 conference invites session proposals that encourage a variety of critical engagements with historical and current issues for art and design.
Session proposals should aim to provide a forum for papers from academics of art and design history and theory, artists and designers, and postgraduate students.
The deadline for session proposals is: 30 May 2008
Please send session proposals to Rosemary Hawker at:
r.hawker@griffith.edu.au
Proposals should include a session title and abstract (maximum 250 words) and be accompanied by a brief bio with full contact details of the session convenor(s).
Conference Convenors:
Dr Rosemary Hawker and Associate Professor Ross Woodrow
