The Association for Theatre in Higher Education's Religion and Theatre Focus Group conference will be held July 30-31 at the Grand Hyatt in Denver, Colorado. Activities will include:
• Panels on pedagogy, the religion and theatre canon, and research techniques in multiple disciplines;
• A reading of the best new play submitted to our annual competition;
• "Desolate/Delight Project," a performance workshop in eastern spirituality, with performers from Naropa University.
The conference begins with registration on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 7:30 p.m. that evening; it reconvenes Thursday morning at 9 a.m., concluding at noon.
Registration cost is $50, with a discounted price of $30 for students. This price includes the luncheon tea and performance workshop. Those who wish to stay at the Grand Hyatt are eligible for the ATHE conference rate, but participants must make their own reservations.
The registration deadline is July 1. To register, send your name, address, email address and phone number to the address below. Include a check for payment made out to Elizabeth Cawns with a notation for the ATHE Religion and Theatre Conference. Students should also send a photocopy of their current student ID.
