The Centre for Intercultural Studies (www.iscap.ipp.pt/~cei/) of the Polytechnic Institute of Oporto’s School of Accounting and Administration (ISCA-IPP) organizes and hosts the I International Conference on Intercultural Studies, on 9 December 2008.
CEI invites all national and international researchers who develop an active interest for the vast field of Intercultural Studies to submit 20 minute paper proposals in Portuguese, English, French, German or Spanish with: title, subject area and abstract (250 words) and bionote (100 words), until 15 June 2008, to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Paper proposals should cover, but not necessarily be restricted to, one of the following broad subject areas:
Representations of Portugal
Journeys through Cultures
Translation and Interpreting
Compared Contemporary Legal Systems
Tourism and Intercultural Studies
Gender and Intercultural Studies
Learning / Teaching Languages and Cultures
The Portuguese Language in the World: New Approaches
Information Systems and Intercultural Studies
Economic and Cultural Globalization
Intercultural Studies in History / History and Intercultural Studies
Papers that are accepted and actually read at the Conference will be selected and considered for national and international publication.
Registration is free for the teachers and students of ISCA-IPP (valid certificate is required).
The Conference hosts a special panel for undergraduate and post-graduate students from ISCA-IPP who wish to present 15-minute individual or collective papers.
Students should submit their paper proposals in Portuguese, English, French, German or Spanish with: title and abstract (250 words) and personal data, until 15 June 2008, to: email@example.com, with Panel “Young Researchers” at the subject.
