The Center for Southeast Asia Studies at UC Berkeley and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at UCLA announce a joint conference, "Ten Years After: Reformasi and New Social Movements in Indonesia, 1998-2008" to be held at UC Berkeley from April 25-26, 2008.
The conference will present a series of panel presentations that will examine the new forces for change that have emerged in Indonesia over this past decade and the transformations that have occurred, while also reflecting upon the New Order and its legacies.
A forum on post-1998 Indonesia will be held on Friday, April 25, at 5:00 p.m., featuring special guest speakers Nursyahbani Katjasungkana (activist and parliamentarian) and Hilmar Farid (historian).
