MANECCS/SACS Canadian Studies Conference. The Middle Atlantic and New England Council for Canadian Studies (MANECCS) and The Southern Association for Canadian Studies (SACS) invite you to join us for our first-ever joint conference on Canada to be held October 2-5, 2008 in Washington, DC.
Proposals for presentations in any field of Canadian Studies are requested. Of special interest are papers and panels that examine Canadian connections to the National Capital District, Canadian-American diplomacy, or the relationship of Canadian provinces to the American Northeast, mid-Atlantic or South. Abstracts of 250 words should be submitted electronically to both conference co-chairs: Andrew Holman, Department of History, Bridgewater State College, Massachusetts (a2holman@bridgew.edu) AND Richard Parker, Department of Marketing and Advertising, University of Arkansas at Little Rock (rdparker@ualr.edu) by MAY 1, 2008 (extended deadline)
For details on the conference hotel and registration see the “Newsletter” page on the MANECCS website (http://www.maneccs.org/news/newsletter.cfm/). MANECCS and SACS are regional organizations of Canadian Studies scholars within the United States. We seek a broad participation for this conference, within and outside our respective regions and from students of Canada at all levels of scholarly study.
