CFP: Visual Culture and Digital Media
The Northeast Popular/American Culture Association (NEPCA) will hold its annual conference on October 31-November 1 on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, North Dartmouth, MA.
The Visual Culture and Digital Media area of NEPCA seeks paper and panel proposals on any appropriate topic including, but certainly NOT limited to:
The approaching demise of analog television
Digital cinematography
Photo manipulations
Social networking sites
Second Life, RPGs, and other virtual environments
Amateur videos and mash-ups on the Internet
Kindle and other e-book matters
Visual literacy
Ethical, moral, or legal dimensions of technology
Cellphones and cellphone photography
CGI
Blogs, wikis, LiveJournal
YouTube
Digital media and pedagogy
Any topic related to either visual culture or digital media is welcome!
The deadline for proposals is June 15, 2008. Email proposals of between 250 and 500 words to the 2008 Program Chair Carol-Ann Farkas: carol-ann.farkas@mcphs.edu and area chair Sue Clerc: clercs1@southernct.edu
