The 2008 Summer Teacher Institute, open to all Kentucky high school teachers, will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania July 20-25. "Founding Rivals” will examine the diverse ideals that framed the creation of the United States Constitution, as well as the debates surrounding its ratification. Conference pre-readings will aid participants in this Socratic-style seminar, led by Dr. Gordon Llyod of Peperdine University. Immersion activities potentially include a “Founders’ Philadelphia” walking tour, Independence Hall, and a day trip to New York. All conference expenses, including transportation, lodging, meals, and conference materials will be provided by the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville.
