This is a THIRD CALL FOR AUTHORS for the on-going ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
Facts on File, America’s leading reference work publisher, has commissioned _The Encyclopedia of the Industrial Revolution in World History_. Co-Editors Dr. Kenneth E. Hendrickson and Dr. Glenn Sanford are seeking contributing authors to write entry articles.
_The Encyclopedia of the Industrial Revolution in World History_ will consist of three volumes, each approximately 250,000 to 300,000 words long. Currently the project is approximately one third drafted, with over 200 entries completed. Remaining, unassigned headwords are listed at the project website given below.
Subject entries will range in length from around 1000 words to roughly 3000 words, with emphasis on clarity and accessibility for secondary and first-year college student audiences. Each of the entries will include cross-references as well as a brief list of suggested readings to alert readers to more detailed information.
Qualified authors are invited to contribute either articles, images, or both. Standard 1000 word articles will earn the author $50 for each article. Additionally, contributors of 5 entries can opt to receive a full set of the encyclopedia ($300 retail value). Authors are free to do more than 5 entries and to combine cash and book compensation.
Article topic availability is on a first-come-first-serve basis. The editors will make final topic assignments and send each author a copy of the Contributor Agreement. Authors will have 90 days from assignment to submit their manuscripts. After editorial amendments, the entry will be finalized and Facts on File will make payments directly to contributors.
