Deadline: April 30, 2008
The Queer Studies area of the Midwest Popular Culture and Midwest American Culture Association is now accepting proposals for its upcoming Conference in October. The MPCA/MACA conference will be held in Cincinnati, OH October 3-5, 2008.
We are considering proposals for sessions organized around a theme, special panels, and/or individual papers. There are typically 3-4 papers or speakers per standard session.
Topics can include, but are in no way limited to: the state of queer cinema; queer fandom; queer youth identities and/or culture; or critiques of queer-centered media (e.g., LOGO, The Advocate magazine). However, proposals may address any topic at the intersection of queer studies and popular culture.
For individual papers, please submit a title and 250-word abstract. For each participant, please also provide a mailing address, institutional affiliation, and e-mail address.
Should you or any of your colleagues be interested in submitting a proposal or have any questions, please contact:
