Fellowships for Trans-Atlantic Summer Institute in European Studies,
June 9-June 21 "Immigrants in Europe and North America:
Representations of Self and Other."
The DAAD Center for German & European Studies at the Universities of
Minnesota will host the 8th Trans-Atlantic Summer Institute in
European Studies (TASI). The Institute will bring together 12 German
or other European, and 12 North American graduate students for an
intensive two-week seminar on the campus of the University of
Minnesota in Minneapolis. The 2008 topic is "Immigrants in Europe and
North America: Representations of Self and Other." The Institute
will be taught by a multi-disciplinary team of senior faculty: Donna
Gabaccia (History; University of Minnesota) and Barbara Wolbert
(Anthropology; European University Viadrina, Frankfurt/Oder,
Germany). The Institute is intended for advanced graduate students.
All selected students will receive full fellowships. Application
