From April 4 - 6 on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, the MEPHISTOS 2008 conference will take place. It is a graduate student conference in the History, Anthropology, Philosophy, and Sociology of Science, Technology, and Medicine.
There will be 22 graduate-student presenters on Saturday and Sunday. And on the night of April 4, Professor David Oshinsky, the 2006 Pultizer Prize Winner in History, will deliver the keynote address, "Polio: A Look Back at America's Most Successful Public Health Campaign".
