Kenneth Jackson Award for Best Book in North American Urban History in 2007: The UHA will award a prize of $500 for the best book in North American urban history with a publication date of 2007. To be considered, please submit three (3) copies of the book, each containing a complete publication citation. All materials must be received by June 16, 2008. Submit to:

Award for Best Article in Urban History published in a scholarly journal in 2007 (no geographic restriction): The UHA will award a prize of $250 for the best article in urban history with a publication date of 2007. Award for Best Dissertation in Urban History completed in 2007 (no geographic restriction): The UHA will award a prize of $350 for the best dissertation in urban history with a completion date in 2007. Criteria for selection for all awards: significance, originality, quality of research, sophistication of methodology, clarity of presentation, cogency of arguments, and contribution to the field of urban history. Membership in the U.H.A. is not required. All works must be in English or in English translation. Late or incomplete submissions cannot be considered. Submissions will be considered incomplete unless three (3) copies of the work are received by the deadline. Submissions must be accompanied by a single page providing the author's current address, e-mail, and telephone number(s). Letters of recommendation and endorsement are discouraged. The winners will be announced at the Association's twentieth annual gathering in New York City, during the annual meeting of the American Historical Association. The Urban History Association reserves the right not to award these prizes.
