Under the title: "Echoes from the Diaspora: Dialogues with Africa through Expressive Culture", this panel seeks to explore the different ways in which cultural forms and expressions of the African diaspora in the Americas have travelled back to Africa, enriching Africa's rich cultural heritage.
This panel intends to be as multidisciplinary as possible, and we welcome proposals from academics, postgraduate students, and researchers involved in cultural studies: musicology, religion, anthropology, linguistics, literature, history, philosophy, etc.
The International Crossroads Conference will be held at the UWI campus in Kingston, Jamaica, July 3-7, 2008.
