New website announces innovative and fully-funded PhD programme in Ireland

Texts, Contexts, Cultures is a new interdisciplinary pathway to the Arts and Humanities PhD. It will be launched in Autumn 2008 in co-operation between NUI Galway, Trinity College Dublin and University College Cork.
Texts, Contexts, Cultures offers students the opportunity to develop their research through training in the pathway's core themes - History of the Book, Imaging Ireland and Renaissance intellectual history. Research training will be offered through new technologies. Projects will be supervised by multi-institutional scholarly panels. Students will also be provided with the opportunity for work placement in the knowledge economy.
Funding for Texts, Contexts, Cultures includes
Twelve four-year scholarships of fees plus €16,000 per annum for students of Trinity College Dublin.
Fourteen four-year scholarships of fees plus €16,000 per annum for students of NUI Galway.
Four four-year scholarships of fees plus €16,000 per annum for students of University College Cork.
The scholarship competition is open to all applicants. The closing date for entry is 1 March 2008. Scholarships at NUI Galway and UCC are in specific fields. For full details please see www.textscontextscultures.ie
