Call for Panelist - "Rethinking Radical Feminism"
AHA Annual Meeting, 2 - 5 January 2009 in New York City
I'm putting together a roundtable for the 2009 AHA on radical feminism in late 1960s and 1970s America. This session will highlight the intensely variegated nature of radical feminist organizing. My paper will examine radical feminists' connections to the academy, with special attention given to the ways that relationships among academic women (undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty) informed the project of radical feminist theory building. Papers addressing radical feminism among women of color, feminist organizing that attended to multiple forms of oppression, case studies of specific groups or locales, or any other aspect of radical feminism during this period would be welcome.
If interested, please submit a 300-word abstract to Jessica Lee at jalee@u.washington.edu by Friday, 8 Feb 2008. The CFP deadline is 15 Feb 2008. Queries welcome.
