Soundings: An Interdisciplinary Journal invites article submissions from across the disciplines that investigate the ways in which conceptions of utopia past and present address the social and political realities of the twenty-first century. Utopian thought is both denounced as escapism, as a flight from the realities of the present, and endorsed as the necessary first step in any thoroughgoing assessment of political conditions. We are interested in the ways in which utopian thought remains possible and viable in the contemporary political and moral landscape.
