Program duration: Summer Session A – May 8 to Jun 4, 08
Description: Students may enroll in as many as 9 credit hours (up to 3 courses), which can be used towards any major. Students will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about life in Brazil, engaging in learning about the rich flora and fauna of Mato Grosso do Sul and becoming informed about its history, cultural change, and the political implications of environmental degradation.

About Pantanal: The Pantanal is the world’s largest wetland area, and is a flat landscape, with gently sloping and meandering rivers. The region, whose name derives from the Portuguese word “pântano” (meaning “swamp” or “marsh” ), is located within the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.
