California State University, Fresno, the Central Valley Institute for Regional and Historical Studies, and the African American Museum of Fresno invite proposal submissions for individual academic papers to be presented at the “Beyond the City Limits: The Rural African American Experience in the West,” April 25-26, 2008. Through this conference we hope to deepen our understanding of African American life in farming communities and small towns in the West’s hinterlands.
