Please find enclosed the concept statements and application forms for participation in the Sommerakademie 2008 in the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, Switzerland. This year’s academy opens on 5th August and closes on 14th August 2008. The theme is dragged down into lowercase and the academy is presided by curator and publisher Dr. Clémentine Deliss (London), and artist Oscar Tuazon (Paris) who will be present during the entire programme. Dr. Martin Kimani (war and security analyst, Kenya), Giovanni Carmine (curator, Switzerland) and Christoph Büchel (artist, Switzerland) have agreed to act as short-term professors. Furthermore, Michael Heizer (artist, USA), Joe Scanlan, (artist, USA) and Adrian Piper (artist, USA) have been inquired to participate as short-term professors.

We hope you will find this year’s theme and faculty of interest and that the prospect of participation could stimulate your artistic works. The deadline for applications is 9th March 2008.
