CALL FOR PAPERS:
Conference: 1968 in the Global South
Location: St. John’s University, Manhattan and Queens, New York City
Date: Friday and Saturday, 7 and 8 November 2008
Deadline for Submissions: Wednesday, April 30, 2008
To mark the 40th anniversary of 1968, the Department of History at St. John’s University and the Center for Latin American Studies, Brown University invite proposals for panels, round tables, and papers that examine the history of 1968 and its greater impact in the global south. Proposals may focus on any region that establishes a clear transnational tie to the global south. Interdisciplinary and comparative analyses are welcome. Graduate students are encouraged to participate. Proposals (150 to 200 word abstracts per presenter) must be submitted by March 31, 2008. Please also enclose a cover sheet with brief biographical paragraph that includes professional affiliation, address, telephone number, and e-mail addresses of each participant.
